Ground -breaking Back Care technology to improve the elasticity and flexibility of your back is now available at the Dolphin Leisure Centre branch in Haywards Heath it is the first clinic in Sussex to use this mode of treatment that mechanically helps to restore the supple elasticity of the spine and surrounding muscles and ligaments, without excessive force.

It does this in three phases-

Spasm - prepares the muscle and relaxes the back commencing and ending each treatment
Reflex- stimulates and strengthens the back muscles and activates the stretch reflexes in the surrounding muscle groups
Mobilisation- gently and gradually frees up the joints

A patient with a longstanding mid back mobility problem had a course of treatment in London which completely resolved his symptoms, we were able to demo the machine for a month and were so impressed with the results that we decided to take the plunge and have not regretted it'

The machine has been developed by an expert British Team based in the South West and is fast becoming a highly effective way at restoring the mechanical efficiency of the spine.

The non-invasive nature of the Theraflex treatment means that it can be safely used on people of all age groups. Since introducing the treatment at the clinic the feedback from patients has been extremely positive with patients noticing a difference after the first treatment, for long term benefit a course of 3 treatments is initially recommended.

 This treatment combines massage, muscle reflex stimulation and micro-manipulation functions via a compressed air powered unit as an extension of the human hand. It is mainly used for resolving recurring or chronic conditions.

Why use Thera Flex rather than manual manipulation?

Since the spine is an integrated unit the mal-adaptive spinal mechanics, which will have occurred in these patients, will be more deep-seated and less likely to respond to localised manipulative procedures. It therefore makes sense in these cases to have a means of treating the whole spinal column in each treatment session. The Theraflex system is designed to do just this, working, it is estimated, at about 25 times the efficiency of the human hand, to comfortably restore flexibility and reflex muscular control.
