OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathic healthcare is not just about treating backs. Osteopaths help with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems encountered in all areas of the body - from foot and ankle issues to neck problems. This includes sporting injuries, other common muscle and joint issues arising from work and everyday life (such as shoulder, hip and knee issues), complex and chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions, neurological conditions such as cervical and lumbar radiculopathy (e.g. sciatica) and entrapment neuropathies (e.g. carpel tunnel).
Osteopathic treatment is patient centred, holistic care and through a process of obtaining a detailed understanding of the patient, careful assessment and examination and an understanding of how biomechanics and other factors will be impacting them, arrives at a treatment plan for the patient based on getting the patient back doing the things they want to do - whether they are an elite competitor, someone managing work demands, or wanting to be able to enjoy a walk on the South Downs.
The treatment involves a careful assessment of how you move, finding ways to help you move more succcessfully, and using a mix of hands-on treatment, movement therapy and strength and condition rehabilitation based exercises, to enable you to return to doing the things you love.
